MRS. ERICKSON’S LAPTOP POLICY SHEET

Laptops are wonderful educational tools, but their use in class requires a few guidelines.

Please be sure to bring your laptop to class every day. If you know your laptop is malfunctioning, visit the technology office and inform me early in the day so that a loaner may be obtained.

Please turn on your laptop as soon as you arrive in class so that you are ready use it as needed. Some classes will involve the laptop; others will not.

All homework is to be printed or sent to me via e-mail before class. You may not print your assignment during class.

Of course you may not open e-mail (unless instructed to do so by me), music, videos, or games during class. Any of these actions will result in an infraction notice and a zero for the day’s class work.

When carrying out a research project on the Internet, be certain to assess credibility of Web sources just as you must do for written sources. Remember, you must credit anything you use from the Internet just as you do for written sources to avoid plagiarism.

BACKUP…BACKUP…BACKUP….each day. Be sure to put a copy of any work you do with your laptop into the appropriate file on the server.
